Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The second time around may be the charm for the future of Rochester’s armory building.

The City Council is trying to find a suitable use for the property that has been vacant since last year. An earlier effort to find a new use ended without a decision and the council agreed to again seek proposals.

Five were turned in by Friday’s noon deadline.

They came from:

Titan Development/Kraus Anderson

Castle Community, submitted by Scott Hoss

Arts and Cultural Initiative, which pitched an earlier proposal

Robert Beeman and Tasos Psomas

Entourage Events Group of Minneapolis, which operates the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis group’s website, it is already planning to open a another venue called - the Armory.

Staff will review the proposals and present them to the City Council in the near future.

For now, details of the proposals are confidential.
