ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a Robbinsdale police officer shot a woman who had a knife and refused to comply with orders.

A statement from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says Robbinsdale Police responded to a home around 5:40 p.m. Thursday after a report of an unwanted person.

The sheriff's office says witnesses saw officers encounter a woman with a knife.

The statement says she refused to comply with officer commands, and an officer shot her. She was taken to a hospital. No information about her condition was released.

No officers were injured.

The sheriff's office is investigating. No further details were immediately released.
