St Paul, MN (KROC AM News) -   A memorial service for former Minnesota Governor and US Senator Wendell Anderson will be held next month.  

Governor Dayton’s office says the service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 15, 2016, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church (5025 Knox Avenue, Minneapolis). 

A reception will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Both the service and reception are open to the public.

The Anderson family requests that there be no video or still photography in the church before or during the service.

After speaking with the family, Dayton has ordered all US and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff through Sunday, July 24, 2016, and from sunrise until sunset on Monday, August 15, 2016, in honor and remembrance of

Anderson died Sunday (July 17) of pneumonia while in hospice care. He was 83.
