Mayo Clinic Report Shows Falling Net Income
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Mayo Clinic has filed a required summary of its 3rd quarter financial performance and it shows comparable numbers with its 2nd quarter report, although there was a drop in net income.
Revenue during the July-September period totaled just over $2.7-billion. That’s down slightly from the 2nd quarter but about $200-million higher than in the same period a year ago.
Expenses totaled $2.63-billion. That’s slightly more than in the 2nd quarter but about $200-million higher than in the 3rd quarter last year.
Net income during the 3rd quarter was $86-million, which is $60-million lower than the prior quarter. It is also about $30-million lower than during the same period a year ago.
The unaudited report shows revenue during the first nine months of the year was $8.15-billion.
That’s an increase of nearly $600-million from the same period a year ago. But expenses were $600-million higher than a year ago, resulting in net income of $341-million. That’s $20-million lower than in the same period a year ago.
