Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A police pursuit that began as a routine traffic stop in Goodhue County ended in a Rochester neighborhood when the man being pursued told police officers to shoot him.

The man took off on southbound Highway 52 near Zumbrota around 4:00 AM Monday after an officer tried pulling him over because of a broken tail light. Two Rochester police officers went after the man after he exited at 55th St and drove east to 18th Ave. The officers caught up with the man after he drove onto Tanner Lane, which is a dead end street.

The man got out of the vehicle and began walking toward the officers with his arms in the air and began yelling at them to shoot him. The officers used their Tasers to subdue the man.

The man was identified as 22-year-old Brenden Renn of Forest Lake.
