MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Police in Minneapolis are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in south Minneapolis.

Police say officers responding to a report of an assault around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday found a 28-year-old man with multiple stab wounds on the front steps on an apartment building. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died Thursday from his injuries.

Police say a 19-year-old suspect was arrested without incident after officers canvassed the neighborhood. He is being held at the Hennepin County Jail.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Police are asking witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact authorities.
