Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Redwood Falls man has been sentenced to five years on probation in a Rochester area financial exploitation case.

52-year-old Scott Beasley went before an Olmsted County judge in February and entered an Alford plea to a charge of Financial Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult. The plea means Beasley does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there is sufficient evidence to convict him.

He was accused of taking $45,000 from an Olmsted County resident and using most of the money to buy a house. Court documents indicate Beasley was the trustee of the victim’s bank account. The money was taken between July and December 2012.
