Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police arrested a man Wednesday who is a suspect in a stabbing reported earlier in the day in the Country Club Manor neighborhood.

Police Captain John Sherwin says 46-year-old Hoang Huy Duong was identified as a possible suspect in the case and was put under surveillance.  Officers saw him enter the garage of another home in the same neighborhood. Sherwin says a short while later, Duong was spotted taking a package from another home and he was arrested.

Sherwin says investigators are trying to determine if he was involved in the apparent burglary of a home near Harriet Bishop school.

The owner returned home around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday says he was attacked from behind. Sherwin says the victim was struck several times with a blunt object and stabbed. The victim was knocked out and called 911 after regaining consciousness.  His injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Sherwin says investigators are working to determine if some items Duong had in his possession when he was arrested were taken from the home where the assault took place.
