St Paul, MN (KROC AM News) - A St Paul man was found dead Sunday on a University of Minnesota transit road, the apparent victim of a 40 foot fall.  

The State Patrol says the 30 year old man was driving a car that was going the wrong way on Highway 280 around 2:30 Sunday morning. His car collided head-on with another vehicle, seriously injuring its driver. There were two passengers in each of the vehicles. They suffered non-life threatening injuries.

 

The man who caused the wreck took off on foot and officers were not able to locate him. He was found dead around 10:30 Sunday morning, about a quarter mile from the scene of the wreck. The State Patrol says investigators suspect the man jumped a guardrail and fell 40 feet, suffering fatal injuries. The man’s name has not been released yet. The State Patrol says he had alcohol in his system.
