Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An Iowa man was arrested Saturday after buying a car from a Rochester area man - with bogus money.

The victim contacted the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office after discovering four $100 bills were counterfeit. He had sold a 1998 car to 36-year-old Terry Grotegut of Waukon, Iowa and signed over the title.

Grotegut was later located in Spring Valley. He told officers the money he gave the victim came from the sale of his motorcycle but they didn’t buy his story and arrested him.
