‘Lovable’ Addition to State Capitol Security
St. Paul, MN (Learfield Wire Services) - The latest upgrade to the security of State Capitol complex in St. Paul has been described as “lovable.”
Matka is a Hungarian Vizsla and is the first State Patrol K9 officer to be trained as an explosives-sniffing dog. Her handler, Trooper Kaj Meinhardt, says Matka will be a great addition at the capitol because she loves people and has already been a “big hit” in her first week on patrol the complex.
State officials say Matka and the trooper will be on hand to respond to suspicious packages and assist in any unexpected threats at the State Capitol.
