La Crosse, WI (KROC AM News ) -  The La Crosse, Wisconsin Police Department says the body that was recovered from the Mississippi River in downtown La Crosse Friday morning has been positively identified as an Onalaska man who had been missing since last November.

The Winona County Sheriff’s Department began searching for 27-year-old Joshua Xiong after his family reported that he did not return home after leaving to do some fishing on the Minnesota side of the river near the Lock and Dam at Dresbach. His boat was later found in the river, and officials said it appeared it had gone over the dam.
