Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - Driving drunk and crashing into a motorcycle has put a Wabasha County man in prison for 10 years.

35-year-old Josh Hansen was sentenced today in Wabasha County Court for a criminal vehicular homicide conviction. The rural Kellogg man earlier pleaded guilty through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of two other felony charges, including third degree murder. Hansen, who has two previous DUI convictions, was intoxicated when the SUV he was driving crashed into a motorcycle and killed 34-year-old Christopher Nelson of Eyota. The deadly incident occurred last October on Highway 42 near Plainview.

Following the a fatal crash, Hansen was accused of spitting in the face of one of the law officers at the scene. A fourth degree assault charge connected to that allegation was among the counts dismissed through the plea agreement.
