Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - You can’t say “there’s nothing to do in Rochester” on this year’s 4th of July.

The annual Salute to the 4th event is planned again in the vicinity of the Silver Lake swimming pool. Activities include a skate and BMX contest from 1 - 4 p.m., a car and motorcycle show from 3:00-5:30 p.m. and a kids camp from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Organizers say there will be live music and food trucks at the event, which is billed to run from 3:00 p.m. - midnight. The stretch of 7th St NE near the pool will be closed during the event.

The Rochester Concert Band will perform at the Silver Lake Park soccer field leading up to the fireworks show.

Also, the annual waterski show at Fisherman’s Inn is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
