Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman won’t be going to prison, but she has been ordered to pay over $236,000 in restitution for stealing from her employer.

36-year-old Elizabeth Nhean earlier pleaded guilty to three felony theft charges through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of four other counts.

She was accused of stealing the money over a one-year period while she worked on the payroll operations of International Quality Homecare Corporation and two of its related businesses. The firm’s CEO notified police after uncovering some suspicious transactions in April 2014. Nhean was out of the country at the time. She later told an investigator she had spent the money on vacations, clothing and other purchases.

In addition to the restitution, Nhean was sentenced to three months in jail and 20 years on probation.
