Three teenagers were apprehended by Rochester police late last night after they crashed a stolen van.

Police were contacted by a man around 11 p.m. who had just spotted the van drive by as he was walking back from a convenience store. The man says the older van is owned by the mosque on North Broadway. He had gone to the store to get some gasoline when it was stolen.

The joyride only lasted a few minutes before the van crashed into a tree in the 400 block of 7th street northwest. The teens - ages 14 and 15 - fled on foot but were caught a short while later.

One was taken to St. Mary’s for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The other two were turned over to their parents.
