Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man will serve one month in jail and two years on probation for an incident last July that caused a seven-year-old girl to suffer a broken leg.

28-year-old Patrick Rousseau earlier pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge of malicious punishment of a child through a plea agreement that resulted in the dismissal of a felony assault charge.

Investigators say Rousseau became upset with the child and slapped her on the back of her head so hard she fell against the dresser. He was then accused of picking her up and slamming the girl down on a bed causing a fracture in one of her legs.
