ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (AP) — More details have been set for the public memorial service for Jacob Wetterling.

It begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. The college says the event, which will include the Wetterling family, will be an "ecumenical prayer service of remembrance, hope and healing."

The memorial marks the end of a nearly 27-year search for 11-year-old Jacob, who was kidnapped in 1989. His killer confessed this month and led authorities to Jacob's remains.

Due to limited seating, people attending are asked to sign up at an online guestbook at www.jwmemorial.net . The service will be livestreamed.

Memorials are preferred to the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or children's organizations dedicated to a better and safer world.
