Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester residents were able to enjoy today what’s been a rare commodity this year; a spring-like day.

While the high temperature was still a little below normal for April 12th, the mercury finally climbed above 50-degrees for the first time this year. The unofficial high reading at the Rochester Airport his afternoon was 52-degrees, which is the warmest it has been in the city since last November 27th when Rochester residents enjoyed a beautiful autumn day with a high in the upper 50’s.

National Weather Service record books show it was the second latest arrival date for 50-degree weather on record in Rochester, tying April 12th, 1979. The record was set in 1975 when Rochester did not experience a high temperature of 50-degrees or higher until April 13th.
