The CROWDPAC website has recently ranked the most liberal and conservative cities in America. They came up with the list by looking “at all political donations on the federal and state level since 2002” for every town in the country with a population of more than 6,000 people.

Hereford, Texas, located in the Texas panhandle, came in tops in terms of conservative towns, while Vashon Island, Washington, the largest island in Puget Sound, came in as the country’s most liberal place to live.

Right here in our neck of the woods, Orange City, Iowa, was ranked as the sixth most conservative spot in the country. Located in the northwest part of the state, Orange City has a population of slightly more than 6,000 and counts Diamond Vogel Paints among its largest employers. The town is also home to Northwestern College, a Christian liberal arts college affiliated with the Reformed Church in America.
