President Obama's executive actions on immigration was thoroughly explored during Friday's Rochester Today show with Tom Ostrom and Andy Brownell on KROC-AM.

Tom took detailed notes while watching Obama's address to the nation Thursday night, while Andy was busy having fun with his bowling league and relied on written accounts of the president's plan to extend work permits to millions of people in the U.S. illegally.

Ostrom was impressed with the political skills employed by Obama in his presentation, noting the president offered reassurances to people worried about a flood of new workers into the job market and the security of the U.S.-Mexico border, while also appealing to the compassion of Americans for people facing the prospect of deportation after living in this country for years. Tom also strongly criticized Obama for exceeding his constitutional authority by highlighting the differences between the executive actions taken by previous presidents on immigration issues and the sweeping changes being ordered by this president.
