(mnIceHawks.com) -- The Dells Ducks (35-6-1 regular season/41-6-1 overall) and the Ice Hawks tied for first place in the MN Division.  The Ducks received the higher seed based on the fourth ‘tiebreaker’.  Both teams had 71 pts, 35 wins and were 3-3 in head on competition.  The fourth tiebreaker was goals scored in head to head games:  The Ducks had 20  goals to the Ice Hawks 19!  The regular season series finished at 3-3.  The Ice Hawks won the first 3 games and the Ducks won the final three between the teams.  Each teams won one game on the other team’s home ice.
This series appropriately shapes up as the showdown of the MnJHL’s best teams.  The teams appear evenly matched.  The prior games in the series were well played, action packed games.  Coach Bill Zaniboni and the Ducks are poised to knock off  the Ice Hawks to return to their second National Tournament appearance in two seasons..  While the Ice Hawks hope to return to the National Tournament for an unpresented 10th time.  Both teams deserve bids to the Nationals, however only one will go!
