Rochester, Minn.-- The Rochester Honkers fell to the Willmar Stingers 7-3 on Friday night.
Patrick Duester (Tulane) was charged with the loss for the Honkers. Dakota Belter (Minnesota State) got the win for Willmar, and Brady Anderson (FGCU) picked up the save.

The Stingers took the early lead with an unearned run in the top of the second, but the Honkers responded in the third as Sam Hall (Dixie State) advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Willmar error.  Two runs in the sixth by the Stingers put the Honkers down 3-1, but a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh for Rochester tied it up. Brad Mathiowetz (DMACC) scored on an RBI single from Alex Schultz, and Miles Mastrobuoni came in for the tying run on an error by Willmar.

The Stingers went up 4-3 wit a run in the eighth, and piled on three insurance runs in the ninth. The Honkers could not mount a late rally from a one run deficit like they did in Eau Claire Thursday night and ultimately fell 7-3.

The Honkers and Stingers faceoff at Mayo Field again Saturday, June 20th at 7:05 p.m. Gates will open 6 p.m.
