After the teams played a scoreless first two innings, Joe DeRoche-Duffin (UCONN) gave the Honkers their first lead with an RBI double in the third that brought Miles Mastrobuoni (College of San Mateo) in. The Stingers responded in the Bottom of the fourth, plating two runs of their own to take the lead back.

Mastrobuoni scored again in the fifth, this time knocked in by Alex Schultz (Nebraska-Omaha), to tie the ballgame. The 2-2 score stood until the top of the eight, when Sam Hall (Disie State) brought Duffin and Schultz in on a 2-RBI single. The Stingers got two runners on base with two outs in the ninth, but could not complete the comeback, setting the final at 4-2.

The Honkers will be back at Mayo Field on Thursday, June 11th, for a double header against Alexandria beginning at 6:05. There will be a Lanyard Giveaway, and it will be Walk in the Light Church Night.
