Rochester, Minn.(rochesterhonkers.com) - The Rochester Honkers announced Monday the signing of left-handed pitcher Jackson Douglas of Iowa Western Community College, for the upcoming Northwoods League season. He played his high school baseball at Rochester Mayo High School.

Douglas is a 6-foot-6, 250-pound, sophomore from Rochester and has a 2-1 record with a 9.26 ERA in six appearances and three starts so far this season.

Douglas spent his freshman collegiate season at Kansas State University. He went 2-2 with a 3.55 ERA in 19 appearances for the Wildcats, including one start. In his 19 appearances, Douglas pitched 25.1 innings, had seven walks and 12 strikeouts.

Douglas was named to the All-State team by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association in 2014, with a 9-1 record and a 1.22 ERA. He recorded 105 strikeouts and 17 walks in 69 innings pitched for the Spartans in his senior season.

Douglas will continue collegiate career at the University of Illinois for his junior season in 2017.

The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express.  The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm.
