Hampton, MN (KROC-AM News) - A section of Highway 52 south of the Twin Cities was closed Wednesday morning after a tanker truck crashed in the median.

The truck had a load of ethanol. It’s not known if there is a leak but all lanes in both directions were closed in the Hampton area until further notice.  Officials earlier indicated the closure could be in effect through 4 p.m., which is bad news for motorists on what is traditionally a busy travel day.

According to MNDOT, southbound lanes are closed at 200th Street and northbound lanes are closed at 215th Street.
