Hayfield Man Gets 3 Years for Burglary Conviction
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the two men charged with attempting to break into a Byron home in broad daylight while an 11-year-old boy was inside the residence has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.
47-year-old Philip Bartlett previously admitted to a first-degree burglary charge through a plea agreement that saw the dismissal of two other burglary-related felony counts.
The Hayfield man and 47-year-old Todd Bauer of Byron were arrested in early April after the 11-year-old boy called 911 and reported that two men were trying to break in through a window in his family’s home. The responding deputies used a police dog to track the pair to a nearby garage, where they were arrested.
The case against Bauer is still pending.
