The incident happened in June. That was a few months after he was placed on probation for a 2017 incident. In that case, an estranged girlfriend reported that she had been beaten repeatedly and robbed after Carlson accused her of cheating on him. The victim told police she was finally able to seek help after Carlson fell asleep inside her home.

Carlson was also sentenced Tuesday to two one-year prison sentences for violating a court order not to have contact with the victim.
