St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The U.S. Agriculture Department announced Tuesday that it has confirmed three additional bird flu outbreaks in Minnesota.

The latest outbreaks affect commercial poultry flocks in Kandiyohi, Wadena and Cottonwood Counties. It marked the first time the illness has been detected in Wadena County.

There have now been outbreaks confirmed in 31 poultry flocks located in 15 counties, mainly in western and central Minnesota. The number of turkeys killed by the H5N2 virus or euthanized to combat it spread has risen above 2.1 million in Minnesota.
