St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is searching for a gunman who fired as many as seven bullets at another man while they were driving on a Twin Cities freeway early Tuesday. Officials say one of the bullets struck the victim’s vehicle in the rear driver’s side door, but no one was injured.

The gunfire followed a confrontation that occurred around 2 AM while the victim was stopped for a traffic light at an intersection in St. Paul. He told investigators a black male in his mid-20s, around five feet eight inches tall, with a shoulder length dreadlocks approached his vehicle and began yelling. The victim indicated he drove away as soon as the light turned green and entered southbound I-35E.

The gunman followed him onto the freeway in a white Dodge or Chrysler minivan and fired 5 to 7 shots at the victim’s vehicle, before he exited the freeway and called 911. At this point, investigators do not believe it was a “road rage” incident.

Anyone with information about the suspect or his vehicle is asked to contact the State Patrol or call 911.
