Guilty Verdict in Case of Woman Found Murdered Near Hastings
Rock Island, IL (KROC-AM News) - A judge in Rock Island Illinois has returned a guilty verdict against the man charged with killing a woman whose body was found in Dakota County last year.
The remains of 29-year-old Carrie Olson were discovered in a rural area near Hastings in April 2014. The Davenport Iowa woman had been reported missing from the Quad Cities area in December 2013.
A statement issued Friday afternoon by the Dakota County Sheriff's Department indicates 40-year-old Timothy McVay of Rock Island was convicted of murder and concealment of a homicidal death in connection with the death of Olson, who was described as the man’s ex-girlfriend.
A sentencing date has not been set.
