St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has announced the appointments of two new judges to fill vacancies in the Third Judicial District created by retirements. Pamela King, who is part of the statewide Trial Team for the Minnesota Public Defender system, will succeed Judge Robert Birnbaum in Olmsted County.

The other judicial vacancy in southeastern Minnesota is in Houston County, where Carmaine Sturino will succeed retiring Judge James Fabian. Sturino currently serves as an Assistant Public Defender in the Third Judicial District.
