COLUMBUS, Ohio (Gophersports.com)  - The No. 12/9 Minnesota softball team suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of 10th-seeded Iowa in the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Tournament Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. The loss dropped the Gophers' 2015 record to 46-9 and snapped the team's fourth win streak of eight of more games on the season.

Minnesota was shut out for just the third time this season.

Danielle Parlich and Hannah Granger produced the Maroon and Gold's only two hits of the night, but could not push any runs across in an attempt to erase the two-run deficit.

Sara Groenewegen was dealt a hard-luck loss in the circle as she tossed a complete game, allowing just three hits. The White Rock, B.C. native struck out 12 Iowa batters to up her season total to 344, the second-most in program history. Her 536-career strikeouts rank the sophomore fifth all-time in program history.
