COLUMBUS, Ohio (GopherSports.com) - Justin Kloos scored Minnesota's first goal of the night and later played the hero with the overtime winner as the Gopher Hockey program topped Ohio State 5-4 on Friday night for the Gophers' third overtime victory over the Buckeyes in as many games this season.

Kloos' game winner at 3:25 of the added session capped a three-point night (two goals, one assist) for the team captain as the forward extended his career-high point streak to 10 games. With 32 points this season, the junior currently leads the Gophers in scoring and has matched his season point totals from his freshman and sophomore seasons. Kloos has now tallied a goal in nine of the last 10 games and has multi-point showings in eight of the last 10 games and seven of the last eight.

Meanwhile, Tyler Sheehy tallied three points (two assists, one goal) for the third time this season whileTaylor Cammarata added a pair of assists. Both Sheehy and Cammarata assisted on the overtime winner with Cammarata winning a key draw in the offensive zone and Sheehy's initial shot bouncing right onto Kloos' stick - ending an overtime session that came following four different lead changes in regulation including a last-second goal by Ohio State.

Minnesota (15-13-0 overall, 10-3-0-0) remains tied for first in the Big Ten with Michigan as of Friday night.

Ohio State (8-15-2, 3-6-2-1) jumped out to an early lead with Christian Lampasso finding the net at 10:01 of the first, but Kloos' first tally of the night - a 4-on-4 strike with 25 seconds left in the period - sent the conference rivals into the first intermission tied at 1-1. Leon Bristedt scored the only second period goal of the night - his 14th of the season - to give the Maroon & Gold its first lead of the night.

The two teams combined for five goals in the third period including back-to-back power-play goals by the Buckeyes to open the period. Down 3-2, it was then Minnesota's turn for a two-goal run as Tommy Novakfound the net at 4:30 of the third to even the contest and then Tyler Sheehy made it 4-3 in Minnesota's favor at 17:15. The Gophers were less than a second away from a regulation win until Matthew Weis put a rebound in for the Buckeyes.

The goal only delayed the celebration for Minnesota as Kloos finished what he started in the added session.

Minnesota outshot the Buckeyes 45-31 in the contest for a new season high and the second time in three games that the team put more than 40 shots on goal.

Eric Schierhorn made 27 saves in the contest to pick up the win for Minnesota, moving to 15-13-0 in his freshman campaign.
