Rosemont, IL (bigten.org) - The NCAA Division I Baseball Committee announced the field of 64 on Monday with Minnesota, Nebraska and Ohio State selected.

Each of the 16 regionals feature four teams playing a double-elimination format. The regionals will be played from June 3-6.

Minnesota earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will play in the College Station Regional. The Golden Gophers earned the No. 2 seed and will begin the regional against third-seeded Wake Forest. The winner will advance to take on either Binghamton or Texas A&M. Minnesota is making its 31st appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its first since 2010.

In the Louisville Regional, Ohio State claimed the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 seed Wright State in the opening round. The winner will take on either Louisville or Western Michigan. The Buckeyes are making their 20th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their first since 2009.

Nebraska earned the No. 3 seed in the Clemson Regional and will take on second-seeded Oklahoma State in the opening game. The winner will move on to face either Clemson or Western Carolina. The Cornhuskers are making their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and their first since 2014.

 

The 70th Men's College World Series begins play Saturday, June 18, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Neb., the site of 2016 Big Ten Baseball Tournament.
