MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Freshman James Johannesson rushed for 130 yards on 22 carries in Minnesota's spring intrasquad scrimmage, leading the Gold team to a 19-7 victory and an upgrade in the postgame meal.

Johannesson, who's from Fargo, North Dakota, scored the only touchdown by an offensive player at TCF Bank Stadium on a chilly Saturday afternoon. He redshirted last season.

Rodney Smith added 92 yards

on 18 rushes for the Gold team, which was rewarded by the coaching staff afterward with a full slab of ribs and two sides: macaroni and cheese and baked beans. The losing White team had to settle for simply two ribs plus baked beans.

Kicker Emmit Carpenter made all four of his field goal attempts for the Gold team, from 23, 26, 31 and 40 yards.
