MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota women's basketball team has fallen out of the top 25 after consecutive losses.

In the latest Associated Press poll released Monday, the Gophers were two spots off the cut at 27th. They were ranked in the last three polls, their first appearances in the top 25 since March 2006.

The Gophers dropped a couple of close decisions, though, last week after falling behind early. They lost 90-88 in overtime at home to Purdue on Thursday after trailing by as many as 15 points and then lost 66-61 on the road against Rutgers on Sunday after trailing by as many as 20 points.

Minnesota fell to 16-4 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten. Up next is a home game on Wednesday against Penn State.
