State College, PA (Learfield sports)  -- Penn State used a 14-6 run over the final 3:46 to spoil a hot-shooting night for the Golden Gophers as the drop the visitors 86-77.

 

The Gophers made 11 3-pointers and led for most of the game but couldn’t hold off the Nittany Lions. Joey King led Minnesota with 22 points while Nate Mason added 19 and Carlos Morris picked up 15.

The Gophers built a 36-32 halftime lead and made 7 of 12 3-pointers in the first half. Mason scored 11 points in the first while Banks added 13 to keep Penn State within reach.

PSU grabs their first Big Ten win of the season while the Gophers fall to 0-3 in conference play. Minnesota hosts Northwestern on Saturday.
