INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) — A 9-year-old girl who wanted to help the family of a fallen Mendota Heights police officer has raised more than $2,200 by setting up a lemonade stand.

A KSTP-TV report says Fil Sans of Inver Grove Heights wanted to raise $2,231. That's because police Officer Scott Patrick wore badge No. 2231.

Fil began selling lemonade and bracelets Sunday. She says she did it because she wanted to help out.

She met her goal by Tuesday, at which point she deposited the money in the Patrick family's memorial account at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union.

Patrick was fatally shot during a traffic stop in West St. Paul last week. Officials expect 3,000 to 5,000 mourners to attend his funeral Wednesday.
