Gas Main Rupture Near Olmsted County Government Center

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A construction crew working on the 4th St road project near the Olmsted County Government Center accidentally ruptured an underground natural gas main around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The rupture occurred under the street at the 3rd Ave and 4th St intersection.

This led to a closure of 4th St from 3rd Ave to Broadway. Also closed was 3rd Ave between 2nd and 6th streets. The nearby Subway restaurant was also closed as a precaution.

The closure lasted about an hour.
