MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The former mayor of Stillwater is charged in federal court with helping a Twin Cities home-health company conceal millions of dollars in tax liabilities.

Ken Harycki, who abruptly resigned in November, was charged on an "information" by the U.S. Attorney — a procedure that indicates the defendant is expected to plead guilty.

The Star Tribune reports the charges against Harycki, a certified public accountant, say he prepared tax forms he knew to be false.

Two brothers who own the home-care company were indicted on a charge of Medicaid fraud. Thurlee Belfrey and his brother, Roylee, own and manage multiple health care businesses.

Roylee Belfrey's attorney says his client indicated in court he intends to plead not guilty. Attorneys for Thurlee Belfrey and Harycki did not return phone messages.
