Former Post Bulletin Publisher Dies

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A former leader of the Rochester Post Bulletin who was also heavily involved in local community affairs has died.
The newspaper reported Friday the passing of William “Bill” Boyne. He died Wednesday. He was 95.
According to the paper, Boyne began his long career at the Post Bulletin in 1979 when he was hired as general manager. He was named editor in 1980 and promoted to publisher in 1982. Boyne retired in 2003 and remained in Rochester.The newspaper says during his long career at the PB, Boyne wrote most of its editorials. He was very active in numerous organizations, including the Rochester Area Foundation, Rochester Area Economic Development and the Chamber of Commerce.
“Bill Boyne was a giant in our profession. His commitment to fair and ethical news coverage was unrelenting," Post Bulletin Publisher Len R. Small said Thursday. "He left behind a tradition of excellence and community leadership that is a central part of the heritage of the Post Bulletin. He will be badly missed, but his legacy will endure.”
Funeral arrangements are pending.
