St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Overall flu activity in Minnesota continued to slowly ramp up last week.

A weekly report from the Minnesota Department of Health continues to rate influenza activity statewide at “regional.” The report shows the percentage of samples submitted for laboratory testing that came back positive for the viral infection shot up again last week and is now close to seven-percent.

There was a modest increase in the number of long-term care facilities reporting confirmed outbreaks, although that number remained relatively low at only three. There was also only one probable outbreak reported by a school in Minnesota and there was a modest reduction in the number of flu-related hospitalizations.
