Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News)  - Firefighters were called out Wednesday night to battle a large blaze in Red Wing.

It was reported around 9:45 pm. at a two story structure near the downtown and more than 20 firefighters were called to the scene. Firefighters from Lake City and Ellsworth, Wisconsin were also called to assist.

Although the fire was brought under control, it was still smoldering as of 10 a.m. Thursday. A Fire Department spokesman says due to the instability of the building, firefighters are not able to enter and extinguish the blaze.

The building - which included an orthodontist practise and some apartments - is a total loss. No injuries were reported but one of the occupants was treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
