Clarks Grove, MN (KROC AM News) -  A house in the Freeborn County town of Clarks Grove caught fire Sunday and may have been wiped out.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was reported around 9:00 PM Sunday and the home was engulfed when crews arrived.

The sheriff’s office says half of the roof collapsed into the house and there was severe smoke and water damage to the entire home. It appears the fire may have started in the chimney near the roof of the house, which is owned by Todd and Heather Earl. All the occupants made it out safely and there were no injuries reported.

Fire crews from Geneva, Hollandale, Albert Lea and Ellendale responded to the blaze.

The State Fire Marshall was contacted to help with the investigation into the cause.
