St Paul, MN (KROC AM News) -    The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is ready to release the final environmental impact statement on PolyMet Mining’s proposed NorthMet mine project on the Iron Range.

The DNR says the 3,000-page document is a comprehensive environmental analysis of the state’s first proposed copper-nickel mine. The document is a collaborative effort by the DNR, the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to satisfy state and federal environmental review requirements.  

The report will be posted on the DNR website ( www.mndnr.gov/polymetat 12:30 today.

Minnesota DNR Commmissioner Tom Landwehr and others will brief news reporters on the report at 1:30.
