TOFTE, Minn. (AP) — The manager of a resort in a small community in northeastern Minnesota says a man fatally shot there was providing entertainment at a Christmas party.

Authorities say the man was killed just after midnight Wednesday, apparently by a man who worked at the resort in Tofte. The 61-year-old gunman was arrested in a guest room at the resort.

Bluefin Bay Resort manager Dennis Rysdahl says the man who was killed was an employee of a casino gaming company that was providing entertainment at the party. Lyric Johnson was at the party and tells WDIO-TV lots of people were dancing and having fun when a gunshot outside the restaurant caused people to flee.

Cook County sheriff's investigators haven't identified the victim or said what might have motivated the shooting.
