Mankato, MN (Learfield News Service) -  An independent prosecutor has determined the fatal shooting of a school teacher by a Mankato police officer last year was justified.

Officer Gary Schnorenberg said he thought his life was in danger when the teacher began kicking him in the head. That’s when Officer Schnorenberg shot Chace Tuseth three times. Tuseth was a teacher at an alternative high school in Shakopee.

Witnesses say Tuseth was behaving erratically at a Country Inn and Suites in Mankato December 31st. He allegedly failed to respond to the officer's commands, then assaulted him, before he was shot.
