ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 49-year-old woman in St. Paul.

Police say Antoinette Elizabeth Boxer was lying unconscious in the road Tuesday night when she was run over by a gray four-door sedan. Several people stopped to help her, but they had to jump out of the way when the vehicle came barreling toward them.

St. Paul police Sgt. Mike Ernster says the vehicle dragged the woman about 20 feet, and then turned left and disappeared. Boxer was taken to a hospital, where she died Wednesday.

Family members say they believe she had been drinking before she fell in the street.

Investigators are seeking tips in an attempt to find the driver and piece together the events.
