DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol says a construction worker has died and another has been injured on the Bong Bridge between Duluth and Superior, Wisconsin.

Authorities say the incident happened about 7 a.m. Monday on the Highway 2 bridge, which is in the second year of a major reconstruction. The State Patrol says both workers are employed by Lunda Construction and the accident involved a forklift. It provided no other details on the circumstances.

WDIO-TV reports both eastbound lanes of the bridge, and one westbound lane, have been closed all summer because of the construction project.
